Krishna Kirtanam
Training Courses in
Harmonium, Kartal & Mridanga
Srila Prabhupada: “My father taught me how to play the mrdanga drum, although sometimes my mother was not very satisfied. She would say, “Why are you teaching him to play mrdanga?” But my father would say, “No, no, he must learn a little mrdanga.” My father was very affectionate to me.” [JSD 1.1]
Kirtana Instruments are highly Instrumental in our growth
ISKCON Bangalore offers you a unique opportunity to learn the sacred instruments used in the Sankirtana. Srila Prabhupada wanted all of us to be adept at Sankirtana and the instruments that enhance the Sankirtana experience, namely mridanga and kartal. You will receive a systematic training from expert kirtaniyas over a period of 6 months. There will be constant assessment and feedback over your progress in the learning process. Listen to our participants about their experience from the inaugural batch of Krishna Kirtanam.
“I think you should get at least 4 mridangas & teach, so that other students also can play on it, so if there are 3 or 4 mridangas played at the park and there are about 20 pairs of cymbals then the kirtana will be more beautiful.”
